Latin American Leadership Society at UC Berkeley

A Group with a Common Passion

Latin American Leadership Society at UC Berkeley was founded in 2015 after a group of individuals decided to turn their shared interests into an official Student Organization. Since then we’ve grown as a community, and have expanded what we offer to our members. When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events and, most importantly, to a group of like-minded individuals who are just as passionate as you are.

ABOUT US

1

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to build and promote a support network for social, personal and professional development for its members and alumni, generate greater awareness in Berkeley students of current events in Latin America and the Latin American community in the United States, as well as the rich culture of the region, and solidify an international network in Latin America that aims to apply the knowledge gained at UC Berkeley as leaders in their respective fields.

2

WHO WE ARE

The Latin Leadership American Society is a group of diverse students passionate about development in Latin America, fostering and connecting Latin American leaders, and promoting the region's culture and image at UC Berkeley. LLS prides itself on having members from nearly every country in Latin America, plus more, who are devoted to not only learning, but also giving back to the communities we come from.

OUR STRUCTURE

Executive members are elected by the members at the end of each semester/year and are the committee chairs that lead their perspectives committee/administrative club tasks. Core members are also known as committee members that are selected through an application process and gain professional development through their perspective committee work, retreat, and other social events priority. General members do not have to go through an application process and gain an invitation to some social events but become a priority for future core member applications.
